£1m - going, going, gone?
The banner that Camelot hoped would trigger a memory
Time is running out for a mystery Lottery winner to claim a jackpot of £1.2m.
| Paul Welsh reports: "Tonight that lottery winner will lose it all" |
And at 2300 BST on Thursday, if the man - or woman - has not come forward they will lose the lot.
| Hull residents wish it was them |
In 1996 more than £2m went to good causes when a Hull ticket-holder did not come forward in the 180-day claim period.
The director of public affairs for Lottery organiser Camelot, Louise White, said: "It is incredible that Hull has been home to two great jackpot winning tickets that have not been claimed.
£251m unclaimed
"It is a great shame when people miss out on prizes, but the money goes to the good causes and is used to support worthy projects."
The draw concerned was on 30 January, and the numbers were 7, 19, 32, 37, 40 and 44.
Since the lottery started, £251m in unclaimed money has been divided up between the arts, charities, sports and millennium projects.
It is estimated that the latest Hull jackpot winner has already missed out on £35,000 in interest.
There are two other jackpot prizes from this year that are yet to be claimed. The first is from 16 June for £2,017,769, and the other from 19 June for £2,564,693.
