Class 25.3.15


In this class we studied pages 121, 125 and 126 - 129.

Grammar: 
We finished studying relative pronouns with exercises 5 and 6, and reviewed the use of articles using material from the student's CD Rom, (below).























Vocabulary:
We worked on the vocabulary of emphasis in Ex.7 and 8.
We also studied phrasal verbs using come and go on p.125 Ex.5
I've prepared definitions to help clarify.

To go up – To increase

To go through – To experience
To come out – To be published
To go ahead – To do something as planned
To come up with – To have an idea
To go by – To pass (time)
To come across – To find by accident
To go off – To lose interest in something

Listening:
We heard 5 people speak about books they have read recently, in Ex.2 on p.126.

Speaking:
We discussed what genres, (styles), of books we prefer.

Writing:
We saw 'Exam advice' on p.129 on writing a review. 

Homework:
Read p.128 and 129 on how to write a review. Choose one of the tasks suggested in Ex.5, then follow the instructions in Ex.6
